FlightDream
New York, New York (OPENPRESS)
February 26, 2007 – “FlightDream,” a dance-theatre performance by
PBS-featured performer Maria Mar, will be the second performance to be
presented in “Journeys to Joy,” a festival of shamanic dance-theatre
performances for women, which opened in New York City this past February.
“FlightDream,” is an art experience that combines dance-theatre with
shamanic healing journey to empower women in their search for prosperity.

New directions for Two Latinas
Two Latina artists have been granted a business scholarship for the New
Directions Program, a non-profit program that provides business training for
women of color in New York. María Mar, performer, writer and visual artist
and Corazón Tierra, performer, writer and editor have 40 years combined
experience working in the field of personal growth through the arts. With
the New Directions scholarship, offered by the Women’s Center, these two
Latinas are receiving training and expert advice and support for their
emerging business: ShamansDance.
