The First Step is the Hardest
By Maria Mar©
Nothing is as difficult as it seems when we are procrastinating.
On hind sight, the true difficulty was our fear.

Have you ever helped a child learn to walk? You as the adult know how easy
it is. It's so easy that by now you do it without thinking, as you breathe.
You can't even remember when you fumbled and fell. To this child, however,
walking is leaping into the unknown.
What is your leap today? Is is writing your book? Is it freeing your
creative voice? Is it unlocking the secrets of your soul through your
journal writing? Is it becoming visible as an expert? Marketing your book?
Finding a publisher? Making money? More money? Releasing self-sabotage so
that you can create the life of your dreams? Recovering health? Finding
love? Reclaiming time to have a quality life?
Whatever your challenge is, it seems insurmountable right now. It pushes you
out of your Comfort Zone. It challenges you to learn new skills or
release old behavior. It is a mystery. You can't control or predict its
course. It makes you feel insecure.
Just
remember that child learning to walk. Remember that to the one on the other
side, with her arms extended, this is as easy as breathing. Know that even
though you feel like the child, you are also that woman waiting on the other
side. Your Wise One has already mastered this because she is connected to
All That Is. Listen to her wisdom. Connect to that part of yourself, and
through her, through the universe of knowledge available to you. Let go.
That first step is the hardest one.
You
may fall. You may make a mistake. That's how you learn to walk. Remember
that child. She falls and quickly gets up. She tests her strength and
quickly builds it up. She observes and rehearses, practices and recovers,
until she is an expert in walking. Now she can run.

Keep the image of this child in your heart as you face your new endeavor.
Carry a similar picture. Or place a baby shoe icon in your keychain.
When you see someone dance, you see their flight. For the dancer, however,
the path to that flight is "fall and recovery."
Light and Love,
