The Shambala Warriors can teach you how to design the environment to write creatively. Just please the Dralas. They will come.
It seems that the Tibetan Dralas are cousins of The Muse. She has similar tastes. She likes beauty, nature, silence, music, harmony, joy, wonder, laughter, receptivity, silence and empty space.
Like the Shambala Warriors, she refuses to visit a room with clutter and takes great offense at being invited into chaos and ugliness, unless it's creative chaos.
A fowl mood will scare the living sights of anyone, and that goes for Dralas and Muses too. An empty stomach, need, feelings of deprivation and orphanhood tend to depress The Muse. This runs counter to her nature, so she will promptly take leave to go dance with some light-hearted spirits.
The Muse is a lavish, exuberant diva. Don't call her if you have not made time for her. Don't be trying to talk on your cell phone, worrying about Aunt Edna and checking your neighbors through the windows and expect her to stay. She will quickly exit and will not come back until you show proper respect, and more ~ delight~ on her presence.
The Muse, like all women, loves to be loved. Love her. Invite her. Make a nest for her. Buy her good red wine, chocolates, sensual-feeling pens and beautiful journals. Play inspiring and uplifting music for her. Clear the space and place flowers, plants, art, shells, stones and candles. Woo her. Want her. Ask for her help. Surrender to her embrace.
Finally, The Muse will not stay in the same room as Righteousness. They are mortal enemies. Whether this rigid matron comes dress in pomposity or in false humility, she will repel The Muse. Welcome the Righteousness Family, including perfectionism, snobbishness, judgment, mental scripts of what should or should not be and rigid discipline lacking a sense of wonder, sensuality and celebration... and The Muse will take flight.
On the other hand, summon a great welcoming committee, such as your Inner Child, your Poet, your Diva and your Wild Woman, and she will show up to the party.
There it is: your infallible formula for designing an environment where you can write creatively.
